A Letter from the 2009 [GT]2 Symposium Chair:
Welcome to the 7th Annual Georgia Tech Graduate Technical Symposium [GT]2 website, sponsored by the Black Graduate Student Association at the Georgia Institute of Technology! As the 2009 conference chair, I am excited to present this year’s symposium taking place on March 12 - 13, 2009 in Atlanta, GA. It has evolved into a premier showcase of scientific knowledge and research conducted by graduate students from across the country. This year the symposium revolves around the theme: “Responsibility and Technology: How big is your footprint?”. This year [GT]2 aims for participants to think about the responsibility that comes along with their technical innovations as well as the broader context of leaving a technical footprint in their field.
The symposium will award over $3000 in prizes to top oral and poster presenters, not to mention door prizes and ipod giveaways. Aside from the research competition, [GT]2 offers exposure to top industry, academic and government contacts throughout the country. This unique opportunity provides a different medium for students to come together to foster collaborations, gain feedback on research and most importantly create that important network needed to survive in this technology age. It features motivating speakers, engaging workshops, and innovative forward thinking companies.
Feel free to navigate our website to find out the latest news regarding [GT]2. You will find our feature sponsor, speaker, and workshop every month as well as receive updates from our newsletter. Check back often to find out the newest workshops, speakers, prizes and opportunities [GT]2 offers. You can also join the facebook group “Georgia Tech Graduate Technical Symposium” for real time updates.
